Hitting walls make great practice partners to help develop your rally speed. Think of practicing in a mirror. Can you handle your own pace? It's all about developing consistent stroke production to enable a sustainable pace of ball exchange, or rally speed. Start at a close distance then gradually increase your distance from the wall. Begin with a goal of three successful strokes, then build from there. As you improve with practice, you will increase the duration and speed of your rallies and can reach a full court equivalent distance. Check out which local parks near you have a hitting wall (Note: Unfortunately, not all do). In the absence of a hitting wall, you can use a rebounder like the one below and set it up in your driveway or other suitable area. Brad Gilbert and Monica Seles were two of many touring pros who made use of hitting walls to improve and maintain their consistency. You're next!

After an early March snowfall delayed the beginning of our season, we are hopeful that we will get some outdoor tennis underway this week. The timing is perfect for the launch of our new web page and the addition of some new business for FirstServe Tennis in 2015. If you have not already done so, make sure to take a quick look around www.tenniseveryone.net and join us out on a court near you this spring. If you would like to bring a FirstServe Tennis program to your community, get in touch with us. We look forward to seeing you on Facebook, here on the web page and on the court in 2015!
