Frequently Asked Questions
What is FirstServe Tennis Academy?
FSTA is Northern Virginia’s leading outdoor tennis management company dedicated to offering tennis programs in a fun, friendly and supportive environment featuring small class size. Tennis is a great game and lifetime sport that everyone, everywhere can play. Quality teaching and coaching style have a lot to do with your progression in tennis and we regard our sharing in your development as a privilege.
What do you mean by Tennis Everyone, Tennis Everywhere?
That is our motto at FSTA. We believe tennis is the sport of a lifetime for players of all ages and abilities. We are not doctors, but our diagnosis of a healthy tennis court is one that hosts active match play, social play, and instruction. When we pass a quiet tennis court, we get sad. If a FSTA program isn't near where you live and work, let us start serving you at court nearby.
Why should I enroll in an FSTA program?
FSTA was founded with the mission to teach quick and lasting results in a fun, friendly, and supportive atmosphere. Key to our mission is our small class size through which we offer individual attention to each student. A 6:1 juniors and 4:1 adult ratio allows our talented coaching staff to better foster early stage player development. Most importantly, we love what we do—we feel everyone is just a few FSTA lessons away from enjoying the sport of a lifetime!
I took tennis lessons before and didn’t enjoy it, is FSTA different?
YES! Our first exposure to a sport leaves a lasting impression-- unfortunately, for many of us tennis involved standing and waiting in a long line in a huge class, boring repetition, and not knowing which coach was going to show up. The founders of FSTA had incredibly positive experiences when learning tennis and seek to pass that on to each and every FSTA student. To that end, FSTA offers small class size, fun instruction, and consistency in coaching from its talented and friendly staff. Join us on court—let FSTA change the way you think about tennis instruction!
